Johannesburg, RSA -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) announces the appointment of Belinda West, Central Procurement Manager of Woolworths and Warren Tanner-Ellis, Group Travel Manager of MTN Group Procurement as the ACTE South Africa Country Champions in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
“As two well respected and knowledgeable travel procurement specialists, ACTE is delighted that West and Tanner-Ellis will be ACTE’s first Country Champions in South Africa,” said Monique Swart, ACTE Regional Director, Middle East and Africa. “The Middle East and Africa is such a diverse region with different educational requirements; we look forward to the perspective they can offer. ACTE’s educational offering will be even more powerful with their support.”
In 2006, West joined Woolworths as Travel Services Manager. In 2008, she completed a business postgraduate program sponsored by the company. West’s current focus for Woolworths is on sourcing policy, process design, cost containment and securing enhanced visibility of spend. Before moving to Corporate Travel and Procurement sector, West held positions in the TMC Sector at Seekers Travel and South African Travel.
Tanner-Ellis provides corporate travel management consulting to MTN, Africa’s largest mobile telecommunications company. It operates in 21 countries across Africa. He aims to extract maximum value from travel suppliers by building collaborative and mutually beneficial partnerships while identifying internal saving and process improvement opportunities. Prior to his employment with MTN, Tanner-Ellis held positions with MWEB CommerceZone where he managed the roll-out of an electronic travel solution for The Parliament of South Africa, providing a remedy for the ‘Travelgate’ scandal. Tanner-Ellis also oversaw the Travel Management requirements of various Naspers companies such as Multichoice, M-net, Supersport, and Media 24.
West and Tanner-Ellis have been instrumental in guiding ACTE’s activities in the region and will work closely with ACTE and its new alliance partner PCMA as Country Champion to uphold its high level of education in South Africa.
