Alexandria, Va -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has identified three issues as rising challenges in the Asia-Pacific market, with the potential for substantial impact on business travel policy. These are: finding and deploying talent in building successful organizations; evaluating the true status of Corporate Social Responsibility within the travel industry; and educating personnel on global business skills, as well as, the ability to adopt to cultural differences and economic business models. Each will be addressed as a keynote presentation at ACTE’s Asia-Pacific Education Conference 22-23 August, 2007.
“These topics are especially pertinent to the Asia-Pacific region, where business travel departments are experiencing rapid growth in a volatile economy,” said ACTE’s Executive Director Susan Gurley. “Our goal is to assist the industry in staffing its requirements, providing personnel with effective strategies, and do so in a manner that protects the environment.” Gurley added that there is an additional challenge in finding a message to appeal to multiple corporate and national cultures spanning dozens of countries within one region.
Ian Till's keynote address -- titled “The Westernization of Talent Management Practices - An Unstoppable Trend” -- will reveal the latest developments in building successful organizations. Till is an expert on talent and leadership, and will focus his presentation on the issues that corporations in Asia must address in developing a blend of management that works best for their individual situations. He will also discuss the latent potential of the Asian psyche in establishing new benchmarks of business excellence, and whether or not the westernization of talent management practice is an unstoppable trend.
