Covering each point on the compass, four international keynote speakers will identify and address a series of issues confronting the business travel industry at the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) Global Education Conference in Miami, May 6- 8, 2007. According to a statement issued by association Executive Director Susan Gurley, each speaker is focusing on a “big picture” aspect of the travel management profession, and relating it specifically to preparedness, cost containment, productivity, or industry evolution.
The four topics and keynote speakers for the Miami conference are:

Future of Brand Management in a Global Economy
“Brand” management is a new concept sweeping the hospitality industry. Bill Walshe, Chief Marketing and Business Innovation Officer for Jumeirah, will address new competencies evolving around innovation, new standards of measurement, and value creation as they will be impacted by brand management in the immediate future. Walshe has strong views on drivers of change, as defined by emerging markets, shifting demographics and new technology. His presentation will define what it takes to win in the “brandscape” of tomorrow.
Aviation Trends: Latin America and Beyond
While high fuel prices, bankruptcies and customer service calamities have dominated aviation headlines in recent years, Pedro Heilbron, Chief Executive Officer, Copa Holdings S.A., has steadily built a profitable airline through sound management and strategic partnerships. Copa Airlines, one of the 3 most successful carriers in Latin America, finished last year with revenues of $608.6 million (USD), up 52% from the year before. In a provocative address followed by Q&A, the speaker will highlight what makes Copa Airlines so successful and the key challenges which will continue to shape the global airline industry in the fast-growing Latin American market, including route rights, consolidation, the rise of low-cost carriers, and developments in distribution and how the industry's response will impact corporate purchasers.
Technological: Forces Shaping The Future
Andrew Zoli, Creator of Pop Tech, will explore seemingly unrelated connections between social trends and industry developments to plot the course of change. Anticipating change in technology, economics, politics and cultural developments can provide executives with a broader understanding of potential opportunities and the means to get the most out of these opportunities. As a futurist, Zoli will detail business themes for the next twenty years. But rather than wait for them to occur, his interpretative approach to the future will detail in plain English the manner in which corporations should be preparing for these developments, and ways to trigger their inception.
A fifth keynote speaker may be added to the conference agenda pending recent developments.
