ACTE Names Stockholm As Site For October Global Conference

Alexandria, Va (Dec. 16) The Association of Corporate Travel Executives today announced that the city of Stockholm would host the group's second Global Conference for 2004. The three-day conference is slated to convene on 17 October and run through 19 October, 2004.

"The city has been courting the association for quite some time, and their contribution to the success of this event is considerable," said Nancy Holtzman, ACTE's executive director. "Plus, we have very strong support from our Nordic constituency, who represent some of the most progressive firms in Europe."

A short flight from most of the major transportation centers in the EU, Stockholm is easy to get to from North America and Asia. Another consideration for hosting ACTE Global Conferences is Internet access. The Nordic countries offer some of the best wireless, high-speed communications and online accessibility in Europe, which is essential to the highly technical nature of these events.

As an added bonus, the conference is scheduled to convene at the beginning of Sweden's season of extended days. "We'll be arriving just in time to see the days stretch far into the night, when the city becomes a jewel box of twinkle lights during the brief intervals of evening. Like Paris in the spring, there are many who believe this is Stockholm's magical time," said Holtzman.

While an agenda has not yet been released, ACTE's education staff will shortly publish a calendar of international forums and Webcasts -- that typically lead to conference issues.
