Singapore, 16 June 2003 - The Association of Corporate Travel Executives has announced new dates for its ASPAC Training Workshop. The regional event will be held in Singapore at the Grand Hyatt Hotel from 5th -6th of November. The change of dates is a proactive decision to allow corporations sufficient time to recover from the nervous period that the SARS episode had brought about.

The ASPAC Training Workshop has a programme comprising keynote addresses, high quality educational sessions and group interactions. The focus is on delivering attendees a wealth of knowledge on business travel management that can be readily implemented in their own organisations. The educational topics were a result of a regional survey that ACTE undertook to identify the critical issues that business travel professionals were confronted with and wanted addressed in an environment that catalyses the exchange of ideas and new knowledge formation.

Michael Molloy of Credit Suisse First Boston and a member of ACTE's Global Board said, "ACTE puts high priority on finding out what business travel management professionals are dealing with and the challenges they are facing in their work environments. With that knowledge ACTE leverages its international faculty of knowledge to find the right answers and other relevant perspectives."

ACTE's distinction is that the association's members consider business issues broader than their individual everyday responsibilities in order to contribute to industry-wide advancement. Thus, ACTE events focus on large-scale topics such as business modeling, innovation and economic forecasting. The Training Workshop features keynote addresses from industry thought leaders in business and innovation. Among them are:

Jean-Pierre Verbiest, Assistant Chief Economist, Asian Development Bank
Tony Lai, Global CEO, The Idea Factory
Tony Fernandes, CEO, Air Asia

For the first time in Asia-Pacific, ACTE will feature a Travel Technology Experience that will showcase technology-driven products for the business travel management professional. Attendees will be given a first-time opportunity to view the latest in the fields of self-service reservation tools, travel security, expense data management, voice & data solutions, etc.

ACTE is proud to present the ASPAC Training Workshop as part of its mission to advance the industry with the support of its sponsors Abacus International, American Express Corporate Services, Business Travel International, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Grand Hyatt Singapore, Radius the global travel company and Raffles International Hotels & Resorts. The official venue for this regional event is the Grand Hyatt Singapore.
