ACTE Leading Business Travel Education in Asia-Pacific

(Singapore, 29 July) The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE), the first global business travel association to focus on delivering industry education to Asia-Pacific markets, will hold the Asia-Pacific Training Workshop on 27-28 August, 2002 in Singapore.

This event will connect over a hundred key corporate representatives and suppliers of business travel products and services. Addressing macro and micro components, discussions will focus on the financial benefits of a properly devised managed travel program. According to Cheryl Hutchinson, ACTE President, "Managing business travel is becoming increasingly more important to top corporations throughout Asia-Pacific. ACTE intends to provide intuitive, thorough, and progressive education to support this movement".

Titled, Corporate Travel Management: Building a Blueprint for Excellence, the workshop's agenda can be seen as a launching pad for the cutting-edge educational support that ACTE is committed to providing. First, Keynote speakers from diverse backgrounds will share their expertise, providing industry insight on current issues and identify significant future developments. They include: Steven Howard, President, Howard Marketing Services; Paul Steffanson, Senior Vice President, Financial Planning, AXA Life Insurance; and Ian Perkins, Chief Economist, The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce Business Development in East Asia.

Next, corporate travel managers with an intimate knowledge of the unique economic environment in Asia will lead learning sessions. They will talk about effective tools and will reveal strategies in procurement, contract negotiation, and marketing to achieve better adoption of travel programs and fulfillment of travel expectations.

Lastly, ACTE facilitator's will guide roundtable discussions and promote understanding between buyers and sellers, helping them to better each other and the industry by making mutually profitable business decisions.
