has announced that it has selected Munich as the site of its 2001
Global Fall Conference
(Alexandria,
Va., USA, December 11, 2000)---The
Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has announced
that it has selected Munich as the site of its 2001 Global Fall
Conference, October 28-30, 2001. ACTE president, Ron Wagner said,
"Due to the expanding attendance at our recent conferences we
have had to do more research to find host cities with convenient
facilities and housing for more than 1,000 attendees." ACTE member
and general manager of `Key Account management for Lufthansa,
Alexander Rahe said that the selection of Munich, a Lufthansa
hub, as host city is "…an acknowledgement of Germany's prominent
position in the global business environment, particularly since
this is the third time in a decade that a German city has hosted
an ACTE conference". German based, Jo-Achim Hamburger, global
travel manager for Electrolux added, "Munich is a most appropriate
choice, having a reputation known beyond Germany's borders for
its' "gemutlichkeit"-hospitality. Additionally it is the capital
of Bavaria, an area known as the headquarters of many multi-national
corporations such as Siemens and BMW." ACTE also announced that
it has chosen the recently opened ArabellaSheraton Grand Hotel
Munchen as the location for all conference events in Munich.
Beginning
in 2001 ACTE is changing the names for its two annual conferences
to ACTE Global Spring Conference and ACTE Global Fall Conference.
ACTE president, Ron Wagner said, "The change reflects the change
in content and attendees that have characterized ACTE conferences
lately. To succeed in today's commercial environment it is necessary
for our members' vision to expand globally and it is ACTE's mission
to provide the resources and education that supports successful
strategies in this world marketplace."
