Conference Showcase Evolves into Sourcing Marketplace
(Alexandria,
Virginia, July 9, 2001) - The Association of Corporate Travel
Executives disclosed today plans for expanding the format of their
popular "Technology Showcase" at the ACTE 2001Global Fall Conference
to include vendors who bring business process solutions to the
corporate travel program. The revised event has been named "The
Technology and Business Process Showcase." Julie Rabern, ACTE's
vice president of technology said, "This new aspect of the showcase
mirrors the evolution of outsourcing in the corporate world. Today
travel managers are tasked with running the business of travel--
a role which has expanded in scope and ties back to the e-business
capabilities of speed and price--unbundling what once was purchased
as a package and determining which pieces should be strategically
sourced and what should be held by the corporation."
The
new format is expected to double the number of vendors that have
participated in past showcases. In addition to technology solution
vendors, others that fulfill business processing needs for the
corporate travel department will be invited to participate in
the Technology and Business Process Showcase. "This new component
enhances the value that our conference program offers the attendee.
The showcase has evolved into an outsourcing marketplace for business
travel," commented Greeley Koch, ACTE's vice president of education.
The
ACTE Global Fall 2001 Conference will be held in Munich from 28
- 30 October 2001 at the ArabellaSheraton Grand Hotel. Additional
information on the conference and the showcase may be found on
