Singapore 1 July 2004 - Travel technology be showcased at the 2004 Asia-Pacific Training Workshop organised by the Association of Corporate Travel Executive (ACTE). IT is the primary enabler for travel managers to reduce costs, eliminate redundancy, streamline processes and better manage and control the corporate strategic asset of business travel. Many IT applications once considered extraneous to the high-touch travel experience have become central components among companies in a drive to manage cost and register positive ROI from business travel activities.

On 18th August, vendors will demonstrate how their IT-powered services such as Online Travel Booking Tools, Travel Security Systems, Online Meeting Planning, Information Management System, Video/Voice/Data Conference, Automated Expense Management & Reporting System, Transaction/Payment System, Automated RFP Solutions, etc. assist corporations to raise the productivity of business travel experience and add efficiencies to the managed travel programme.

Mr. Michael Molloy, Credit Suisse First Boston's Director, Internal Client Services Group Asia-Pacific said, "IT has revolutionized the manner in which business travel is procured, arranged and in some cases complemented by alternatives to physical travel. The showcase will be an excellent opportunity to see what is available and what it can do for our bottom-lines."

One of the twelve educational breakouts at the Training Workshop is a session designed to complement the Technology Showcase with a presentation on touchless technology used in the managing business travel. Touchless technology offers minimal human intervention with the promise of resulting lower costs. This session will explore the range of available touchless options and examine how well it is delivering on its promise. The Asia-Pacific Training Workshop will be held from 18-19 August at the Grand Hyatt Singapore. It features three keynotes, twelve breakouts, three roundtable dialogue sessions, a management clinic and superb networking opportunities.
