ACTE and eBuyerSolutions.com Save $500 for Association Members
Alexandria, VA, May 6 -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives
(ACTE) and eBuyerSolutions.com announced today that they have reached
a new agreement that provides every corporate member of ACTE access to
the procurement site. This new agreement provides free access,
eliminating the standard $495 fee for current and new ACTE members.
Membership fees for ACTE corporate members will not be increased as a
result of the new agreement.
"We are pleased to offer our corporate members a value-added service
as part of their ACTE membership fee. The tools provided by
eBuyerSolutions will now be available to all ACTE buyers to assist in
their travel management responsibilities. Our association is always
looking for ways to support our membership and provide leading edge
concepts for the industry," said Nancy Holtzman, Executive Director,
ACTE.
The eBuyerSolutions site provides a method for travel managers to
conduct research, evaluate supplier services and download customizable
RFPs and other tools used to conduct bid projects for preferred
suppliers. The database of supplier service capabilities provides a
warehouse of information for advance research, which can shorten a bid
project by several weeks, and reduce the effort required by suppliers.
The site has RFPs in the following areas:
- Travel Agency
- Auto Rental
- Procurement Card
- Online Booking System
- Limousine Services
- Payment System
- Automated T&E; System
- Airline
- Meetings & Group Travel
The RFPs are customizable and can be specific for different geographical
regions. Travel agency proformas, for instance, can be downloaded and
utilized with any currency for agency pricing offers in any country.
The RFPs can be sent to any supplier, even if they are not participating
in the eBuyerSolutions site.
The eBuyerSolutions site was opened in March 2002 and in its first
year of operation has had 173 corporate buyers join. In the travel
agency component, the site has participation from nine of the top ten
US agencies. According to Ralph D. Brown, President of R.D. Brown
Company, which manages eBuyerSolutions: "It has been a good start and
it's been well received by users. The site has provided value for all
sizes of buyers; even large companies that simply want to conduct
research on alternative suppliers. Some have used the site for
research and then utilized their own RFP, which is fine," said Brown.
