Herman Mensink Resigns as ACTE's EMEA Director
Brussels (8 Jan. 03) -- Herman Mensink has resigned as the Association of
Corporate Travel Executive's EMEA director, effective 31 January, 2003.
According to a statement issued by ACTE Executive Director Nancy Holtzman,
Mensink is leaving to pursue other interests. A former Director of
Corporate Travel for Philips Electronics, Mensink was the first executive
named to the EMEA directorship (created in 1999 to fill the administrative
needs of a fast-growing regional membership).
"We wish Herman well in his new endeavors," said Holtzman. "His
efforts and
insight were always welcome. "Mensink presented a highly visible presence
for
ACTE during a number of critical periods in the EU's history, such as the
currency changeover, the emergence of low-cost carriers, and the region's
explosive growth. "He was a strong advocate of education through
application,
and incorporated this philosophy in meeting association objectives,"
Holtzman
added.
ACTE has begun the first steps toward recruiting a replacement. This includes
an analysis of the position and making changes to re-align the office with
ACTE's new objectives. "Steps have been taken to assure there will be no
lapse in the service we provide our members," said Holtzman.
