JOIN
HANDS, JOIN MINDS, AND PERSEVERE
Welcome
to the Association of Corporate Travel Executives. As a member
of the business travel community, you are most likely experiencing
the confusing effects the recent tragedy has had on business travelers
and suppliers of business travel services. Like me, you are probably
grappling with heavy questions concerning the overall health of
our industry. You may be caught between the immobilizing, surreal
nature of this devastating tragedy and the absolute need to push
forward and overcome its destruction.
As
the President of ACTE, an organization wholly dedicated to your
success, I would like to encourage you to reach beyond the terror
and sadness and to band together as a community. We will work
hard to keep our industry strong. We will nurture and continue
development for professionals like ourselves, who are a vital
part of the global economy!
ACTE's
redesigned Web site will serve as a constantly updated news source
for issues pertinent to business travel professionals throughout
the world. As you click through these pages you will have your
fingertips on the latest developments of the travel industry.
You will be linked to networks of government, media, and relief
organizations as well as global industry resources.
ACTE
plans to go forward with a revised 2001 Global Conference, which
will bring together the most determined and the best minds. This
arena for worldwide collaboration will be used to address critical,
time sensitive solutions to growing concerns, as a direct result
of Tuesday September Eleventh's tragedy. ACTE leaders will travel
throughout the world to identify problems and facilitate forums
to produce solutions. We will survey our members and will be guided
by your need for information.
ACTE is your association and it is our intention to support you
in any way we can. Please share your thoughts and ideas with us
so that we may do this in the most effective way possible. Our
unity is essential for the health of the industry and our focus
on the future will help us to rise above the sadness. Let us join
our hands and minds and be steadfast in our quest for perseverance.
Sincerely,
Ron Wagner
President
