Mellen to Leave Executive Director Post on September 1

Washington, D.C. -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives announced today that Terrell Mellen will step down as the association's executive director on September 1. In a June 2 letter to Earl Foster, ACTE president and director global travel management for Joseph Seagram & Sons, Mellen resigned "with sadness" from her role.

"We will miss Terrell immensely", said Foster. "Her contributions to ACTE have been substantial. She has developed a solid foundation for the association and prepared us for a leadership role in the changing world of global travel management. We regret her decision but all members of ACTE wish her well."

Mellen has been ACTE's executive director for three years. She led a successful reorganization effort, significantly improving the association's financial position and expanding the membership base from 650 to 1,700 members worldwide. "I have enjoyed my tenure with ACTE and am proud of all that we have accomplished" Mellen said. "However, with most of our original objectives achieved, I feel that it is time for me to seek new challenges."

ACTE's Board of Governors is establishing a search committee to fill the vacancy.

Mellen will continue as an ACTE member and, in that capacity, enjoy the fruits of her labor as executive director. These include the upcoming ACTE Global Conference in Berlin in November, the ACTE X New Orleans conference in May, the implementation of the Association's new Four-Year Strategic Plan and the development of a European office which will have a profound impact on the association's international expansion.
