ACTE's Membership Reaches 1,626

Forty Percent Membership Growth Since April, 1996

Chicago, IL - The Association of Corporate Travel Executives announced today that its worldwide membership has reached 1,626 up from 1,142 members in April, 1996. This is ACTE's highest membership level since the association was founded in 1987.

ACTE's membership roster includes 1129 members from the US, 157 Canadian members and 340 European members representing thirteen European countries. Corporate Travel or Purchasing Managers comprise the largest segment of ACTE membership at thirty-eight percent. Supplier members represent thirty-six percent of the membership, travel agency executives twenty-two percent with consultants, journalists and other categories constituting four percent.

"The past year has been tremendous for ACTE in terms of worldwide membership growth" said Earl Foster, the association's president and operations manager, corporate travel for Hewlett-Packard. "ACTE's continuing development validates the importance of multinational corporate travel management and affirms that ACTE is well positioned to meet its members' needs in a quickly evolving global business environment".
