Earl Foster Re-elected as ACTE's President-ACTE Names New Officers for 1998-2000 Term

Alexandria, VA - Earl S. Foster, Director, Global Travel Management for Joseph Seagram & Sons, Inc. has been re-elected as ACTE's President. ACTE's Board of Governors also named the slate of officers who will serve a two-year term along with Foster. The new officers will assume their positions at the conclusion of ACTE's Annual Members Conference on June 3, 1998.

The ACTE officers will include Larry Cook, Senior Vice President Commercial Sales, Marketing and Client Services for Travel and Transport, Inc., as Vice President of Operations and Planning; Daniel Merrill, Regional Director of Sales for AmeriSuites, as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer; Julie Hylton, Manager, Multinational Account Development for American Express, as Vice President of Administration and Secretary; Colleen Guhin, Globabl Travel Manager, Motorola, as Vice President of Education; and David Henderson, Account Director for American Express Europe, as Vice President, International Development. Armand LeCompte of Hoechst Celanese Corporation, will continue to serve as Chairman.

"Through his leadership and vision during his first term of office, ACTE has become a global organization, including opening an office in Brussels last year and the planned expansion into Asia in 1998."

Larry Cook serves as Travel and Transport's Senior Vice President, Commercial Sales, Marketing and Client Services, where he is responsible for the sales and service of the credit card enhancement division, Amerenhance. Prior to joining Travel and Transport in 1993, Mr. Cook served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for The Hertz Corporation for 15 years. A current member of ACTE's Board of Governors, Mr. Cook was awarded ACTE's 1995 Business Professionalism Award for his contributions in elevating standards in the business travel industry.

ACTE Names New Officers-March 12, 1998

Daniel Merrill serves as AmeriSuites' Regional Director of Sales. A 20-year veteran of the travel industry, he has held various corporate level positions with nationwide hotel chain companies, including Pickett Hotel Company, Premier Hospitality and Red Roof Inns. An active ACTE member, Mr. Merrill is currently Vice President, Finance. In 1994, he was presented with ACTE�s President's Award for significant contributions to the association.

Julie Hylton is Manager, Multinational Account Development for American Express, where she oversees the card and travel relationships for a key global customer. Prior to joining American Express, she served as Senior Director, Business Travel Sales, with Omni Hotels with national account sales and chain-wide negotiation responsibility. An active ACTE member, Ms. Hylton currently serves as Vice President, Administration and Secretary.

Colleen Guhin is Corporate Travel Manager for Texas Instruments. During the past eight years, she has played a major role in the development and execution of the company's global travel strategy and is responsible for worldwide travel management. She currently serves as ACTE�s Vice President, Education and also served as the ACTE IX Chicago conference co-chair.

David Henderson serves as an Account Director for American Express Europe, where he manages a portfolio of major clients. Prior to joining American Express, he spent seven years as Corporate Travel Manager for Independent Television News. Mr. Henderson is a current member of the ACTE Board of Governors and is serving as co-chair for ACTE Global 1998.

The Association of Corporate Travel Executives is a not-for-profit professional organization comprised of corporate practitioners of travel management techniques and suppliers of business travel services. ACTE was formed in 1987 expressly to educate, promote, protect and advance the interests of its members as well as the interests of the corporate travel industry as a whole.
