1998 Trends And Techniques Washington, DC - ACTE is delighted to announce the theme of its second European regional forum for 1998: Trends and Techniques. This will take place at the Marriott Hotel in Zurich, on Wednesday 4 March. This one day intensive educational programme first looks at the 'trend' of Commission Capping. What is the policy of airlines in Europe, how does this affect the corporate travel industry? Are all airline "alliances" heading in the same direction? Senior airline representatives Hans Ruedi Fehr - Head Commerical Management, Switzerland, Swissair; Lee Shave - Head Sales and Customer Relations, Swissair; Willy Schnyder - Director, Switzerland, Lufthansa and John Snocks - Regional Manager Europe, American Airlines will debate this 'hot' topic. To follow, the forum moves onto 'techniques' and technology. So much new software is available, but does it deliver its promises? How are major corporations adapting and adjusting and what are the end results? Offering insight and vision, economist, Andre Zibung, joins industry experts Klemens Schurger - Travel Manager, Daimler Benz and Simon Koshla - General Manager, Amadeus as they present hands-on experience. Registration for the one day forum costs BF6.000 (CHF240) for ACTE members and BF9.000 (CHF360) for non-members. For non-members wishing to join ACTE a special tariff of BF9.000 (CHF440) including a year's membership is available. Full information can be obtained from the ACTE Europe office in Brussels by phoning 00 32 2 743 1589 or fax 00 32 2 743 1550. Regional Forums are one-day educational seminars designed to provide valuable information to ACTE members during the hiatus between the association's Annual Member's Conference (31 May - 3 June, New Orleans) and the ACTE Global Conference (8-10 November, Paris). ACTE encourages and recognises individual involvement on its various committees and in leadership positions within the organisation. Responsible for the Zurich educational programme are Committee Chair, Anthony Helbling, BTI Kuoni, Switzerland; Philipp Zurcher, Travel Manager, Buhler AG and Walter Hodel, Travel Manager, Novartis Services AG. The Association of Corporate Travel Executives is a not-for-profit professional organisation comprised of corporate practitioners of travel management techniques and suppliers of business travel services. ACTE was formed in 1987 expressly to educate, promote, protect and advance the interests of its members as well as the interests of the corporate travel industry as a whole. ---------------------
