GIC; Berlin, GermanyAs part of an ambitious expansion plan, the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has recently hired a professional association management firm and is in the process of hiring a European director for the recently opened new ACTE Europe headquarters. "Europeans now make up 23% of ACTEa significant proportion of our global membership. Our four-year plan calls for ambitious expansion throughout the continent in 1998, a process that is more appropriately supervised from Europe that from 5,000 miles and six time zones away." The new European office is located in Brussels, where GIC, ACTEs newly-signed assocation management firm, is also based. GIC will report directly to Nancy Holtzman, ACTEs new Executive Director. A search for a full-time director is now underway, Foster added, with the new hire slated to begin after the first of the year. "The ACTE Europe director will work closely with GIC," Foster said. "But most importantly, he or she will oversee educational programming, special events, member services and outreach to future members." The ACTE Europe director will report to the Executive Director, Nancy Holtzman.
