Airfare reform is one of the most hotly debated issues in the business travel industry today. True to our commitment to exploring every avenue of cost containment, service enhancement, and managerial excellence, an advisory group of ACTE's corporate members developed the accompanying White Paper proposing the basis of a true customer-supplier relationship to achieve airfare reform.

This document addresses the perceived issues of corporate travel managers, details the need for reform, and suggests some ways to move forward. It is our hope that this paper will encourage dialogue between action groups committed to supporting travel industry recovery, while satisfying the needs of the corporate buyer.

The advisory group readily acknowledges that this paper has been developed from the stance of U.S. travel buyers. Future initiatives will represent all levels and facets of the purchase process, as the dialogue for airfare reform becomes industry wide.

We encourage all of you to read this document carefully and to share your opinions with the advisory group by returning the enclosed form. Your participation is the next step in determining the direction of this initiative.
