Meetings consolidation is the last frontier for many corporate travel programs. This initiative is challenged by stakeholders in various business units and departments who have had historic oversight of their own unit's or department's meetings. Meetings' technology and evolving supplier relationships will allow autonomy of meeting planners, while enabling consolidation of data and management of business processes to mitigate risk and unnecessary costs. This panel discussion will present a case study of the TELUS implementation of a web-based meetings management tool, and showcase the three-way partnership cycle between the corporation, the technology provider, and the hotel that executes the function.

The work's begun and the team is being assembled to welcome the world to 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver and Whistler. Vancouver 2010 has made the transition from Bid committee to Games Organizing Committee (VANOC) since being awarded the games July 2, 2003. Operational plans and schedules are being drawn up and venues will be built or renovated over the next six years. This session will be an overview on the activity leading up to this important event.
