The Perfect Storm?
Travel Manager's and Procurement Specialists alike are tasked with providing a ROI for their company and the pressure to showcase results has never been more keenly felt.
Hoteliers are looking to recoup financial losses realized during the past few years. With demand on the increase and supply remaining relatively constant, it appears that the ingredients for the perfect storm may be brewing as the 2005 RFP season approaches.
To obtain a better understanding of this complex topic Kirk Reed, an analyst from PricewaterhouseCoopers will provide an objective viewpoint and will discuss the financial issues behind the business of running, financing and ultimately setting rates in the hotel industry

Behavior Change: The Next Frontier in Cost Savings
Many companies continue to focus on expense reduction to improve the bottom line and the corporate travel department is often management's first stop on the road to expense reduction. Negotiating corporate discounts is generally the first step in the process. Is your company ready for the second step?
Mike London, Executive Vice President of Global Sourcing Best Buy Co, Inc. will be talking about the challenge with achieving $5 million in savings by focusing on traveler behavior and the processes involved in achieving results

GDS Deregulation - What Does It Really Mean?
Join us as John Caldwell, a legal travel expert and a panel of industry experts guide us through the impact of GDS deregulation and content (fare) fractionalization on corporations and suppliers.
We will discuss the potential future impact of the changing distribution landscape, now that mainline carriers are not required to participate equally in all GDS systems. The emergence of low cost carriers and their strategies for inventory distribution has resulted in challenges for corporate managed travel programs that need to ensure that travelers have access to all fares.

John Caldwell, Legal Travel Expert, Caldwell Associates

Cheryl Weldon, Vice President of Strategic Accounts, Worldspan

Technology as an Enabler
The introduction of the internet has changed the offerings of the traditional travel management company (TMC) to include on-line booking and on-line travel reporting tools.
On-line travel booking companies which originally focused on the leisure market have broadened their scope and now offer corporate travel services as well, now being referred to as internet or on-line travel management companies (ITMC's.)
Confusion continues to grow as we debate the differences between TMC's and ITMC's. This session will provide you with new perspectives and information to help you determine the best solution for your company.
