Former
NTSB chair, James Hall and key regulatory officials share their
outlook on travel safety and security measures, compliance issues,
challenges and constraints. James
E. Hall was appointed chairman of the U.S. National Transportation
Safety Board in 1994 by President Clinton, who also appointed
him to the White House Commission on Aviation Safety and Security.
In 1996, President Clinton and the Congress assigned the Board
the additional responsibility of coordinating federal assistance
to the families of aviation accident victims. Hall represented
the NTSB in safety issues internationally as well, traveling to
over thirty countries during his tenure with the Board.

George J. Mitchell currently serves as chairman of an international

he served as chairman of the International Commission on Disarmament
in Northern Ireland, and as chairman of the peace negotiations
in Northern Ireland, at the request of the British and Irish governments.
Under his leadership the governments of Ireland and the United
Kingdom and the political parties of Northern Ireland agreed on
an historic accord, earning him worldwide praise and a 2000 Nobel
Peace Prize nomination.
