Looking at the Next Wave of Challenges in Business Travel Management

Executive Forum

Atlanta, Georgia
21 September 2006
Hyatt Regency Atlanta

This Forum will begin with a keynote delivered by Trip Davis, President & CEO of TRX, who will share his view on the trends and challenges the industry can expect to see emerging. Following the keynote, a presentation that examines the business continuity plan (BCP) developed by a pharma company in response to the possibility of a pandemic will provide attendees with a template for producing their own BCP. Discussion in the second half of the Forum will focus on how the dynamics of supply and demand are expected to affect cost in the hotel sector in 2007 and conclude with an examination of how travel “fits” into a corporate end-to-end system or ERP.

Reality Check

Another round of hotel sourcing has just begun. Although still a way to go before the results are in, the smart money is betting on rate increases across the board. Working within an ERP environment

ERP vanquishes the old standalone computer systems from various areas of the corporation and replaces them with a single unified software program divided into software modules that roughly approximate the old standalone systems. The benefits of standardization and seamless data flow these systems offer have become irresistible to corporations and resulted in a marked uptick in the demand. This session will share the experience of a corporate travel department whose travel end-to-end solution is integrated within the enterpise’s ERP and the benefits that both the corporation and the travel areas realize through this alignment. .

Peter Pearson, TravelSmart Manager, Financial Shared Services, The Coca Cola Company
