ACTE is prepared to smooth the way. As the only industry association that
regards its members, both corporate and suppliers, as equals, ACTE is
uniquely positioned to provide the 'voice of reason platform' for solution-based
discussion of industry issues by:
providing information and education
promoting open discussion
striving for clarity
encouraging networking
After
all, we are an association that represents all segments of our industry
and we respect all perspectives of an issue in developing solutions.
We recently witnessed the power of open discussion at the ACTE Executive
Forum in New York earlier this year. The forum focused on an open discussion
of IATA's Corporate ID proposal by bringing all parties and their respective
opinions on the issue together.
After hearing the panel, IATA realized that the proposal required additional
research and went back to the drawing board with much appreciation for
the information they had gathered. Had it not been for ACTE's initiative
in bring the parties together the proposal would have most likely been
accepted.
I am pleased to announce that just before this conference IATA approached
us again and asked if ACTE would chair an Industry Advisory Board in an
effort to help IATA review the industry's concerns and to help identify
a way forward on the CCIS-RP1778.
In addition ACTE will continue to discuss this issue proactively again
at the London Forum on May 3. Other issues are looming:
crowded skies
supplier mergers
safety
service
strikes
Our
goal is to develop a constructive approach, a repeatable process for resolving
industry issues.
As an issue driven association, ACTE will be there to facilitate, educate,
and to help build the awareness. Again, open discussion, solutions focused
and all perspectives represented.
Solutions and ultimately success come when people with different perspectives
work together on the same problems and solve those problems together.
Finally, I hope that you have all had the opportunity to network with
your fellow ACTE members while in Tampa and to share the valuable knowledge
that you all possess.
We hope that this conference has armed you with some valuable tools to
help you deal with the change and chaos that we all face everyday.
One of ACTE's challenges is to continue to sustain the synergy within
the organization on an ongoing basis so that we can continue to bring
value to you as members throughout the year.
I know that everyone at ACTE has worked very hard to make this conference
a success. On behalf of ACTE and it's members I want to once again, thank
all of our wonderful sponsors who help to make this event possible and
thanks to all of our staff and volunteers who have also contributed.
Thank you for coming and I hope that the Tampa conference has been of
value to you!
