Honors Five Members with Presidents Awards For Outstanding
Contributions to the Organization
(Tampa,
FL, USA, April 24, 2001)--The Association of Corporate
Travel Executives (ACTE) has recognized five members for
outstanding contributions to the organization during 2000.
ACTE President Ron Wagner announced the winners of the
Presidents Awards here earlier today during the group's
annual spring conference.
"Without
the efforts of members like these, our organization could
never accomplish all it does, particularly on an international
scale," emphasized Wagner. "As with all of our annual
awards, these individuals were nominated by their peers,
making the recognition especially meaningful."
Recipients
of the ACTE Presidents Awards for 2000 are:
Asia: Peter Choo, managing director/CEO, BTI Global Travel,
for his role in establishing ACTE in the Asia-Pacific
Region and setting up ACTE's Singapore office.
Asia: David Pettigrew, commercial director,
Business Travel International, for spearheading ACTE educational
and networking events in the region.
Canada: Sylvia Gray, consultant, Western Management
Consultants, for her countrywide contributions toward
increasing ACTE membership there.
Europe/Middle East/Africa: Ian Epps, Account
Manager - Airlines, Galileo International, for his efforts
in establishing ACTE in the EMEA region and growing ACTE
membership continuously over the past few years.
United States: Cheryl Hutchinson, senior principal,
American Management Systems, for her leadership contributions
to ACTE, particularly in the area of education.
Founded
in 1988, the Association of Corporate Travel Executives
is the only organization wholly dedicated to the science
of business travel management with an international constituency.
ACTE membership totals more than 2,400, including entities
in Asia, Europe, Canada and the United States. The organization
