Confronted with the sharp and unexpected reduction of corporate travel expenses, traditional travel management companies faced the reduction/disappearance of commissions as they simultaneously were challenged by increasing Internet competition. Compensation models have emerged that are non- commission dependent. The first model to appear--management fee--is slowly ceding ground to the transaction fee model. Using the new model clients will be billed by travel management agencies for the services they request. Learn what defines a transaction and how this new compensation scheme works.
