PRESENTATIONS

Mergers and Acquisitions: Good News or Bad

Listen to the experts discuss the recent mergers and alliances in the airline, hotel, agency and corporate environments. Learn what it means to the consumer, the traveller and travel manager. Learn how these changes effect the service we receive and where they will take us in the future.

Y2K--Problems, Common Misconceptions, Exposures and Disruptions

The dilemma surrounding the Y2K debacle is gaining frantic attention as the next century quickly approaches. The first half of this session will examine how one company, American Express, has organized its' Y2K efforts. The discussion will focus on the following topics: What is the Year 2000 problem? What are some common misconceptions? How could Y2K effect the travel industry and your business? What steps is American Express taking to minimize its exposure to Y2K related disruptions?

The second half of the session highlights technologies that will dramatically change the way companies book and manage business travel in the future. Revolutionary new products such as online corporate travel services and smart cards will be presented.

Risk and Exposure

Business travel involves complex risk and liability issues for both travellers and companies. Travel managers must be knowledgeable about these issues in order to prepare their travellers, companies, and policies accordingly. In this two-part session, expert panelists will explain the trends and potential risks involved while travelling and offer valuable take-away information to help you protect your company from risk and exposure. A second panel of car rental, hotel and airline representatives will address the steps travel suppliers must take in ensuring safety.

Thinking Outside the Box

Companies are looking more and more internally for management and staff to think more creatively and to contribute more to business plans. How are employees changing their mindset with their already hectic schedules and limited time for creativity? This session will feature an expert who will present ways to discard old paradigms and show how "thinking outside the box" will open even more doors in today's busy working environment.
