A Call to Action for All ACTE Members
RESPONSE REQUESTED BY September 1, 2002

At this time, the ACTE Board of Directors announces the opening of the member leadership nominations period for the year 2003.

One of the greatest privileges of ACTE membership is to select the leaders who will guide the association through the years ahead. Many think the greatest privilege is to be given the opportunity to serve. This privilege of choice is being bestowed upon you now, as we begin the nominating process for the following positions:

2003 President-Elect
Treasurer-Elect
Open seat on the Board of Directors

If you are personally interested in being considered for any of these leading industry positions or can recommend a qualified candidate for any of these positions, please complete the Nominations Form. All responses will be completely confidential.

All members of the Nominating Committee are available to answer your questions any time during the election process.

An important role of the ACTE Board of Directors is to look to the future with a goal of understanding how best to meet the needs of the ACTE global membership. The Board continues to focus on five very fundamental but important initiatives:

• Attract the most talented volunteer leaders in the industry
• Become a recognized knowledge resource for our members
• Improve communications up, down and across the association
• Improve our commitment to quality
• Continue to develop new and innovative education programs

ACTE has a unique executive governance structure that guarantees a seasoned business travel management professional is always within reach of the helm. A sitting president has the benefit of a president-elect and a past-president to insure continuity, share the workload, and extend the vision of the membership. These elements are critical to an association with ongoing initiatives that may span years. The Treasurer-Elect and Board of Directors terms of office are also structured to provide a similar structure of experience, training and continuity.

Upon receipt of your recommendation, a member of the ACTE Nominations Committee will contact you or the proposed candidate to discuss the opportunity and their level of interest. It will not be necessary for you to contact your recommended candidate.

We thank you for your active participation in the election of the next President of ACTE.
