Benefits of Membership

ACTE recognizes the interdependence among corporate travel purchasers and corporate travel suppliers - and treats them as equals. ACTE welcomes all categories of suppliers, offering them the same voting rights as corporate members and an equal opportunity to help shape the destiny of their industry. Another unique feature is ACTE's firm focus on networking and communication vehicles that allow suppliers and buyers to understand each other's points of view. This encourages meaningful dialogue and fosters productive working relationships.

Membership Profile

ACTE's membership is as diverse as the corporate travel industry. Corporate travel managers are key to the organization; so too are representatives from airlines, hotel companies, travel agencies, car rental companies and computer reservation systems; travel management consultants, and providers of products and services as different as travel technology, value-added-tax reclaim and travelers insurance. ACTE also attracts leading educators and journalists from the trade and consumer business press. ACTE is well known for the professional level of its members. One of the fastest growing membership segments is corporate finance executives-from the office of the CFO to the heads of accounting and purchasing, who are increasingly cognizant of the critical role T&E; management has in managing the bottom line. Also quickly changing is the composition of ACTE's membership; the number of ACTE members outside North America increased nearly 80% during 1994-95, the fastest growth of any association on the industry. This trend validates both the importance of multinational corporate travel management and affirms that ACTE is well suited to address the new needs of a quickly evolving global business environment.

ACTE members meet literally everywhere. Through the Annual Members' Conference, ACTE Global and a variety of National and Regional Forums, ACTE's responsiveness to quickly changing, significant issues gives members the critical information they need to develop comprehensive travel management strategies. An added advantage: ACTE's conferences offer participants the opportunity to network with members of the corporate travel community in a congenial environment without the distractions or hard-sell atmosphere of a trade show. The Annual Members Conference is held in a different North American city each year, drawing an average attendance of six hundred. These conferences are so well regarded that the majority of ACTE members cite them as the primary reason for joining the association. ACTE Global, the association's international forum, is designed for executives with multinational travel management responsibilities. These conferences rate very highly as well, not just for the content and quality of the seminars but for the important networking opportunities they afford. Regional and National Forums are held regularly, The topics vary from region to region, depending upon the interests of local members. These forums are a way to provide valuable news, analysis and techniques during the hiatus between the larger Members' Conference and Global forums. These regional, national and global events are supplemented by a wide range of communication materials that help keep members apprised of key issues, suggest marketplace solutions, and provide informed commentary from industry leaders. Member surveys are discussed, analyzed, and key results disseminated on a regular basis. The ACTE Quarterly, the association's magazine, and its companion publication ACTE Update, keep members apprised of news and trends on a timely basis.

ACTE Members drive the activities, provide the energy, identify and address issues as well as deliver educational benefits. ACTE encourages and recognizes individual involvement on its various committees and in leadership positions within the organization. Active involvement helps the overall industry - and provides tremendous interaction across industry segments. One of ACTE's greatest strengths is its ability to leverage membership expertise for the benefit of all members.
