The beginning of this year brings with it a new era in the worldwide economy, which includes travel management. There will be new opportunities to think “out of the box” to enhance customer service, technology and innovation, while also lowering costs. The economic crisis will drive the industry to think more about webinars, videoconferencing and teleconferencing as a complement to their air travel programs.
Finding the right balance between cost-cutting and the need to maintain travel as an essential, revenue-generating business function, and to increasingly view travel as an investment rather than a cost, is one of the tasks that corporate travel managers will be charged with this year.
ACTE provides the stage for this to happen through its many educational events, an archive of industry knowledge – ACTE Connect, online communities and advisory committees.
