The Advisory Committee's initial objectives:

• Strengthen ACTE's role as a key constituent and informational/research resource to governmental organisations, in particular the EC.
• Monitor U.S. and EU legislation proposals related to the use of passenger's information.
• Serve as a link between ACTE members and EU legislators keeping both parties informed.
• Pay special attention to issues pertaining to privacy and ethics related to the use of information required from travellers.
• Provide information to regulatory and professional groups who share common interests with ACTE membership related to travellers security.
• Solicit ACTE members' input and suggestions regarding the implementation of the US - EU policy on transportation and border security.
• Increase ACTE members' understanding of new developments in traveller security and its impact.
• Continuously update resource list for members on Traveller Security Advisory Committee website.
• Share results of survey's conducted by the Task Force with ACTE Membership.
• Produce position papers, white papers, documents for distribution to ACTE Membership.
• Enhance or provide input on relevant educational session(s) at Global Conferences, EMEA Regional Forums and Webcasts.
• Contribute to articles for the ACTE Global Business Journal when appropriate.
