ACTE officially launched the CSR Initiative in the Fall of 2005. ACTE was the first organization in the business travel industry to recognize this key issue and educate members on the positive corporate and social benefits of sound CSR practices.
The purpose of the CSR Initiative is to:
- Increase the understanding of CSR and its impact on the corporate travel industry;
- Build the business case for and promote the development of sound CSR business practices within individual organizations;
- Facilitate dialogue regarding the benefits of responsible business on an organization's bottom line, corporate image, market share, and risk management; and
- Provide resources, tools, and legal and regulatory updates on CSR issues affecting the corporate travel industry to ensure legal compliance, a positive corporate financial performance, and sustainable policies.
ACTE's initiatives in CSR include reducing carbon emissions, providing CSR-focused education opportunities to the corporate travel industry, and supplying travel industry professionals with tools they can use in every aspect of CSR integration-from implementing a new CSR policy to end-of-year reporting.
ACTE promotes all socially responsible behaviors by members, and aims for a better alignment of corporate goals with those of society.
